Shake Media Adopts Some Bloggers

Ever since I attended the Women, Work and Management Conference it has struck me that although the Corporate world does mentorship rather well, the blogging world does not. It’s not a people thing, it’s a structure thing. The point of being a blogger is that you get to do your own thing.

So I put the callout on Twitter and Facebook and Google Plus thinking that I would get a couple of people who would take me up on my offer of mentorship for 6 months. And I was blown away when I received around 40 responses.

I would have loved to say yes to everyone but obviously from a time point of view I can’t. So Kate and I have created a forum here on Shake Media. It’s only visible to members but anyone can join and feel free to head over there and ask any questions or bounce any ideas around. We are really excited to have it as an ongoing place for discussions and ideas!

Kate is also going to offer two mentorships for the people who expressed interest because she is awesome like that.
